2024 Camp Speaker

Zac Jones

I grew up on a ranch south of  Broken Bow, Nebraska. I went to high school in Bow and attended church at Berean Bible Church. Our family always made it a priority of going to church and being surrounded by Godly values, but it wasn’t until high school when the Lord truly grabbed ahold of my life. It was through my church youth group where I learned what it meant to be a follower of Christ. I began to realize the weight of my sin and the amazing significance of the cross and resurrection. I truly believe this is why I’ve been drawn to working with high school youth because this is where my life in Christ began. Over the last decade or so I’ve really developed a love for God’s word and a desire to know him more. Merritt Youth Retreat has been a huge part of my life, and it’s been a privilege of mine to help with the camp ever since graduating high school.

Behind the Lord, my family is my greatest joy. I’ve been married to my amazing wife, Hannah, for almost 9 years now. We have 2 sons. The oldest is Cal who is almost 7, and Walker is our red-headed boy who is going to be 2. They are crazy, full of energy, and impossible to keep up with. So in other words, they are boys! Cal and I like to go camping together, and Walker likes to destroy things. As far as my job goes, I have spent most of my life working in the Ag Industry. My job is centered around that very thing as I work on the retail side of my wife’s family’s feed store. It gives me great opportunities to meet and connect with people in the community. I also love raising and working with cattle. We are even fortunate enough to have a small herd of our own. We love going to check cows as a family and getting out in the country.
